How In Case I'm Murdered Got Started
Hi! I'm April Hardy
In 2012, my children and I faced life-threatening danger, but I found few resources to help. Determined to survive, I studied personal safety and intimate partner homicide, uncovering a painful truth: women in immediate danger are often ignored or blamed.

To share what I learned, I published "In Case I’m Murdered" in 2019.
The tragic murder of Aliyah Terry, whose story mirrored mine, reinforced my mission: to help women escape violence.
Seeing a gap in life-saving resources, I founded In Case I'm Murdered LLC in 2024 and began creating the Scary Ex Survival System—an online program offering education, support, and a survivor community, removing barriers like shame and isolation. That transitioned into the SafeWork Advantage program, which allows employers to offer intimate partner violence survival education to their employees.
